The Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) is a single-day conference to help advance the achievements of Springfield high school students and help them gain access to higher education. YES sessions are broken into two tracks where students are separated by grade level focusing on social responsibility, community engagement, college access and identity development. These tracks are facilitated by Missouri State University staff and students, as well as community members.
This year’s theme will be YES is LIT (Leadership, Interact, Transform). The conference is free and open to any student. Lunch is provided to all attendants.
YES is planned by the NAACP Springfield Chapter, Multicultural Services in conjunction with Admissions and Enrollment Management and Springfield Public Schools.
