MSU: I'm First is Missouri State University's student organization devoted to helping first-generation college students succeed.
I'm First will present a panel discussion on April 28th designed to help first-generation freshmen and sophomore college students have productive conversations with family and friends when they return home for the summer.
All college students face similar issues of reconnecting with family and friends when they return home from school. But first-generation students face even more challenges as they try to convey how college has changed them.
First-generation students will need to help those they care about understand what their life has been like this year and how they've changed as a result of their college experience. Perhaps most importantly, you'll need to have healthy conversations about how your family and friends can help you continue down the pathway that you've chosen to adulthood .
Come join this panel discussion to learn some useful tips and strategies about how to have healthy conversations when you return home for the summer.
When: April 28, 2016 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
Where: Karl's Hall Auditorium (Agriculture Building next to Craig Hall) Room 101
