Description

Graduate student Tamzid Ibn Minhaj will present his thesis defense on Thursday morning, May 18 at 10:00 AM. Tamzid is a masters candidate in Materials Science. His topic is "Study of Copper and Aluminum Modified Chromium Oxide Inverted Core-Shell Magnetic Nanoparticles".

Due to the fact that their magnetic properties are quite tunable, magnetic core shell nanoparticles (CSNs) have become established as one of the most promising class of nanomaterials for magnetic and medicinal applications. They have a wide range of potential applications including but not limited to spintronic devices, spin valves, magnetic recording media, and cancer treatment (using hyperthermia).
