Description

This highly interactive training prepares participants to mediate civil and family/domestic cases.  Participants develop their mediation skills through role-plays and interactive exercises and receive extensive one-on-one coaching and written evaluations of their skill development from coaches with a wide range of experience in a variety of types of civil and family mediation.

The training covers a variety of topics, including:

  • The causes and dynamics of conflict
  • Listening skills
  • Negotiation theory
  • Interests vs. positions - getting at the real goals in a conflict
  • Diversity, power and conflict
  • Mediation techniques, and much more.

The CDR's Mediation Training offers an unparalleled learning environment for attendees by bringing together expert presenters as well as coaches with experience in all types of mediation. This allows participants to learn from mediators with a wide variety of perspectives and approaches to mediation and offers networking opportunities with experienced professional mediators.

This training has been approved under MO Supreme Court rules 17 and 88 and meets the mediation training standards of most other states, including Arkansas and Kansas. It also qualifies for CE credit (CLE, NASW, NBCC, SPHR/PHR, etc.).

This training regularly sells out, so early registration is recommended. Missouri State University faculty and staff may apply their $150 non-credit course fee waiver toward the cost of the training.
