"Breakthrough: Portraits of Women in Science" Screening

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and public radio powerhouse Science Friday (broadcast locally on KSMU 91.1 FM) will celebrate Women’s History Month with a look at the pioneering work of women in science and technology. The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Springfield will be one of nine theaters across the country to screen the complete series of Science Friday’s “Breakthrough: Portraits of Women in Science,” followed by Q&A with local women in science. 

The screening on March 8 begins at 7 p.m. and lasts about an hour. Following the screening, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will host a question and answer session with Dr. Tamera Jahnke, dean, College of Natural and Applied Sciences at Missouri State University; Dr. La Toya Kissoon Charles, assistant professor of biology at Missouri State University; Whitney Hayden, audiologist; and Dr. Beth Bowles, director, Girl Infinity.
