Brick City Gallery will feature the work of two new media artists March 27-April 18, 2017. Brick City Gallery is located at 215 W. Mill St., Springfield. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday to Friday; noon-5 p.m. Saturday.

Jenny Vogel works in video, photography and computer arts. Her work explores the world viewed through new media technology using web-cameras, blogs and Google searches as source material. She received her MFA from Hunter College (NYC) in 2003. She is a 2005 NYFA fellow in Computer Arts and is currently assistant professor of new media art at the University of Massachusetts.

Vogel’s work has been screened and exhibited in group and solo- shows in numerous locations and galleries: Storefront Gallery, NYC; The Dallas Museum of Art, TX; McKinney Contemporary, TX; San Francisco Camerawork, CA; Arnolfini, UK; The Siberia Biennial, Russia; The Swiss Institute, NYC; EFA Gallery, NYC; Kunstwerke, Berlin; PS1 Contemporary Art Center, NYC.

Manuel Molina Martagon is a multimedia artist working in video, photography and performance. Martagon holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Media and Communication from UPAEP (Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla), an MFA in Photography, Video and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in New York and an MFA in Creative Writing in Spanish from NYU.

Martagon’s work has been exhibited in Mexico, the United States, Spain and Cuba. His videos have been featured at festivals like Proyector Madrid, Region 0 The Latino VideoArt Festival, YANS & RETO and Festival de Video Arte de Camaguey, and institutions such as the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia and Art Museum of the Americas in DC. He has also been the recipient of multiple international awards and grants, including a Fullbright scholarship, CONACYT (Consejo Nacional Ciencia y Tecnología), Alice Beck Odette Grant and PECD/AP (Programa de Estímulo a la Creación y Desarrollo Artístico de Puebla). He is a regular collaborator with the New New Yorkers program at Queen Museum of Art.
