Mabon (Autumn Equinox)

Mabon (Autumn Equinox)
Date and time
All day, September 22, 2017
Description

Mabon is the Autumn Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. It is a time when the day is as long as the night, and people prepare for the coming winter days by storing their harvest. Because the day is as long as the night, it is a time of balance. It can be a time to focus on bringing balance to our lives, or a time to contemplate the balances of nature: light and dark, summer and winter, life and death, etc. It is also the second harvest, and associated with that, a time of thanksgiving, a time of giving thanks for the things we have, whether it is abundant crops or other blessings.
