Visiting Artist Talk with Kerry Phillips

Visiting Artist Talk with Kerry Phillips
Date and time
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, February 22, 2022
Description

Kerry Phillips creates sculptures and installations using familiar objects, often overlooked, in unexpected ways - ranging from things scavenged and found to collected experiences and retold stories. She works intuitively in response to place, objects found and time, often enlisting the community's particiaption in the gathering of materials or through performative interactions.

In her talk, Phillips will consider happenstance, resistance and the shared story of things as it relates to the seemingly accidential nature of the materials she finds, how she uses them and her dogged refusal/inability to look at things in ordinary ways. Though she may also talk about anything but that and digress often in her easygoing personal storytelling-style way of sharing.

Public access to this talk will be via Zoom. Please register
