Computer Science Seminar

Speakers: Jason Anderson, Head of Research at UnitedMasters and Josh Durham, MSU Computer Science graduate.

When we think about data privacy, it is easy to focus on social media platforms as the primary protagonists (or villains) in the relationship between people and behaviors. In truth, nearly every industry has been actively transforming itself to maximize the economic value hiding in our digital identities. This session explores the reach and value of that hidden data and presents several long-term scenarios for the relationship among technology, regulatory policy, digital property rights and ethics frameworks for data science practices.
