- Description
The CAP (Certified Administrative Professional) designation is recognized as a standard of proficiency in the field and is sponsored by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). The University recognizes the attainment of the CAP rating by any full-time regular employee who is in a nonexempt, classified secretarial/clerical/office support position - Job Family 1 in the University's classification index.
The three session CAP Review Course provides an overview of the topics that are tested on the CAP exam. The course does not provide in-depth instruction on each topic so individual study and previous academic knowledge is required for exam preparation. Participants will receive a study guide in the course for exam preparation.
The sessions are facilitated by a qualified and CAP certified instructor through the Management Development Institute. Information covered during the three session CAP Review Course includes:
- Organizational Communication
- Business Writing & Document Production
- Technology & Information Distribution
- Office & Records Management
- Event & Project Management
- Human Resources
- Financial Functions
The IAAP CAP certification exam is administered through computer-based testing. Candidates will apply for the exam through IAAP and then schedule a testing time at the university testing center.
