Capt. Aaron J. Eidem Memorial Highway Dedication
Date and time
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, October 08, 2018
Description

Missouri Department of Transportation representatives will present the Captain Aaron Eidem Memorial Highway sign to his widow, Amber Eidem.

In 2016, Capt. Eidem, an MSU assistant professor of military science and an active duty military police officer, positioned his car between oncoming traffic and a motorist stranded in the fast lane on I-44.

His efforts saved the life of the motorist, but at the tragic loss of his own. Capt. Eidem was posthumously awarded the Soldier's Medal by the U.S. Army, which is the highest award a soldier can receive outside of a combat-related event.

Lt. Col. Scott Morris, a previous MSU professor of military science, who served with Capt. Eidem, will be the guest speaker.

This memorial event is open to anyone who wants to pay respects to a great teacher, devoted father and husband, and a truly selfless soldier who upheld the Army's values.
