For more than 10 years, Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services has provided first-year students with an on-campus living opportunity to participate in a living-learning community (LLC). LLC is defined by the Association of American College and Universities (AAC&U) as a high-impact practice. Bears in the Know attendees will learn how first-year students’ participation in a LLC impacts student transition and engagement, which increases first-year student retention. Attendees will also learn about ways to engage with this program.
Presenters: Gary Stewart, director, Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services; Alisa Garbisch, assistant director, Residence Life-Student Success Initiatives; Katie Colip, coord-success initiatives; and Christopher Clark, coordinator, Residence Life-Student Success Initiatives.
The luncheon will be held in the Turner Family Hospitality Room on the first floor of the Kenneth E. Meyer Alumni Center. Complimentary parking is available in the attached garage off of McDaniel Street. Feel free to arrive any time after 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at approximately 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at noon.
