The Department of Communication is celebrating alumni voices as part of Communication Week 2014.
Paige Oxendine ended her time at Missouri State University by receiving one of the university’s highest honors — the Citizen Scholar Award. After her graduation in 2012, Paige accepted a position with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
Paige double majored in socio-political communication and public relations. She used her college years to not only serve her fellow Bears but to make a difference in the greater Springfield community. She worked as an intern for the city of Springfield, Springfield Regional Arts Council and the Urban Districts Alliance.
With a résumé that includes serving as student body president, traveling abroad to China and interning for organizations throughout Springfield, Oxendine’s college career reflects the three pillars of MSU’s public affairs mission: ethical leadership, cultural competence and community engagement.
