The psychology department tasked a subcommittee to find ways to identify strategies to engage and retain students.  This workshop describes the retention principles that guided the committee, the way the committee approached its charge, and the resulting recommendations.   Special emphasis is placed on advisement considerations and finding ways to help majors become more vested and proactive in the advisement process.
