Description

Graduate student Anthony Pelton will present his thesis defense next Wednesday, April 19 at 10:00 AM in Kemper Hall, room 220. His thesis topic is Investigations of PLD Grown Tungsten Oxide Thin Films.  Pulsed laser deposition (PLD) is a promising technique for creating inexpensive, nanostructured thin films which may lead to structures suitable for photocatalysis. The process has involved the use of a variety of instruments and methods, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Raman Spectroscopy, and X-Ray Photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) Anthony’s research advisor is Dr. Robert Mayanovic (PAMS).
