Public Affairs Conference - Black and blue: How can the community/law enforcement relationship be healed?
Date and time
3:00 PM - 4:15 PM, April 05, 2017
Description

In many American cities, relations between citizens and police are strained. People of color live in fear of being the targets of police brutality. Police officers worry they might be ambushed while on patrol or even just sitting in their cars. Both those who protect and those who need protection are afraid of becoming victims of senseless violence. How did we get here? How well do we even understand the problem? How can this dynamic be changed? What can government do to improve the situation? What can private citizens and volunteer associations do to help?
