Description

Qixi Festival, literally "The Night of Sevens", also known as Magpie Festival, falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month on the Chinese calendar; thus its name. It inspired Tanabata in Japan, Chilseok, in Korea, and Thá in Vietnam. It has sometimes been called Chinese Valentine's Day since the late 1990s.

Girls traditionally demonstrate their domestic arts on this day and make wishes for a good husband. Qixi originated during the Han Dynasty.
